Enhancement packages for older 4-Spindle Chuckers and 1-2-3
Rotary Transfer Machines are available for existing or
remanufactured machines
Programmed thread
counting is an example of the Goss & Deleeuw Machine Enhancements
Programmed thread counting offers three advantages:
-
Change-over time is
dramatically reduced, since the trial-and-error method of
establishing the length of thread is completely eliminated. The
number of turns required is entered directly into the LED read-out
mounted on the gear box. Change-over is further reduced since all
thread spindle speeds are dialed directly, thereby eliminating the
need for changing threading gears.
-
A second advantage
is high-speed threading reversal. Since threading very often
controls the cycle, the ability to return the threading spindle in
its lead screw at three times the speed that the threading took
place can dramatically reduce the cycle time without requiring
higher speeds and feeds on the cutting tools.
-
The third advantage,
which applies to 4-spindle machines, is that the maximum cycle
capability is 900 cycles per hour, an increase of approximately
40% over the potential output of the older designs. Reduced
change-over time with higher productivity result from the Goss
enhancements, which are available today.
The pneumatic shifting
enhancement available on 1-2-3 Rotary Transfer Machine utilizes
"state of-the-art" proximity switches and pneumatic cylinders,
eliminating the existing mechanical trips. The infinitely adjustable
trip disc permits optimization of feed stroke and dwell, which can
significantly contribute to productivity. The new shifting
enhancement is a positive system, which simplifies the normal
maintenance.
The addition of an
automatic lubrication system to provide positive lubrication to
critical points is a must in today’s high production environment.
Our positive lubrication enhancement option is incorporated into the
machine tool’s electrical control system to effect an orderly
shutdown should a lubrication failure occur.
Any machine, which
is remanufactured today, can be fitted with thread spindle safety
interlock, which prevents index from taking place until all tapping
spindles have been returned to their starting positions. This is an
extremely important enhancement, when one considers the cost in
dollars and lost production time resulting from operator damage to
the threading equipment during setup.
